5 Tips for Staying Sane in a Home Business!

At last, you have achieved your dream. You've escaped the drudger of working for someone else and are now self-employed, or maybe you've just got your online business off the ground and your working towards being self-employed full-time.

You're sitting in your spiffy new office - whether it's in the corner of the sitting room or in a converted bedroom - surrounded by your equally spiffy new toys... your computer, desk and some strategically placed shelves.

Your new multi-function center will print stuff, fax stuff and copy stuff. (It won't hang out the washing, but hey, you can't have everything.)

You've even got work coming-in and the immediate worry about making a living has vanished. Hooray! You really *can* work from home!

At first, working at home is pure bliss. Then you get a week when everybody and their dog seems to want your services. After putting in a few late nights, you meet all the deadlines and think; phew...I'm glad that's over! You decide to relax and give yourself a day off. After all, you worked all through the weekend and earned it, right?

Unfortunately, the following week you find yourself off to a bad start trying to make-up for your day off. Before you know it, you find that you're dropping further and further behind. You reflect gloomily that when you were working for someone else, at least at the end of the day you were finished...what didn't get done didn't get done!

Well, it's time to take heart and set a few simple strategies in place that will keep you in control of your time...and your sanity.

1. Do NOT Accept Any New Work This Week.

Take a good look at what you have on your plate now, and carefully plan the week ahead. Your aim is to regain control. Tell new clients that you are fully booked, but you can put them on a priority list to be phoned next week. (This will not only allow you to catch up, but make your services appear highly in demand.)

2. Build In Time For Leisure and Rest.

Not only for this week, but EVERY week. A half hour walk; a twenty-minute break in the sun with a cup of coffee; a quick swim or a movie outing with friends - all these activities can recharge your batteries. You will find that you can achieve far more when you are rested and alert. (How many times have you sat at the computer staring at the screen, achieving very little, because you're over-tired?)

3. Tackle Urgent Tasks First.

If you're behind, your first step must be to contact all clients and arrange firm new deadlines. Make sure you base these new deadlines on what you CAN achieve, not what you HOPE you can achieve. If any existing client needs your services or products urgently, bump them up the queue.

4. Prioritize Remaining Tasks.

Scrap anything that is not essential, and delegate what you can. Consider involving family, business associates or friends to handle some tasks. (Warning: do not hand over tasks that must be carried out only by you as the principal of the business. Your reputation is important.)

5. Set Achievable Daily Goals.

If you finish a task ahead of schedule, begin the next... but adhere to a definite cut-off time each day. What you are doing this week is establishing a system that will continue to work for you.

Getting out of trouble when your business is in overload is just like getting out of debt. Your business rating is similar to your credit rating - nothing can be gained by denying that a problem exists. Nothing can be gained by slipping deeper into the mire. Call a halt; contact the main players; set workable strategies in place and you can quickly regroup.

Before you know it, your home business dream will be on track once more.

"Do You Have a Backup Plan?"

I came accross the following article about online payment systems. It may be useful if you are or plan to be selling products online. I have made all the links workable so you can check the different pay systems out ( be sure and come back and finish the article). Having other vehicles of payment for your products besides PayPal ( which I use and Highly recommend ) might be a way of not having "all your eggs in one basket" enjoy the article.

PayPal Alternatives: "Do You Have a Backup Plan?"

Many people think that in order to do business online you need
to have an expensive merchant account to have the ability to
take payments by credit card from your customers. Nothing could
be further from the truth. Merchant accounts can be hard to get
and the monthly fees can really add up.

So what's an honest Internet Entrepreneur to do?

The answer for most is Paypal.com. It's easy to set up an
account, and fees are low and depend on your monthly sales
(for most it will be 2.9% and .30 per transaction). You'll
find most Net users trust and use PayPal for their everyday
purchases, so they won't have a problem using it on your website
to purchase from you.

However, relying solely on PayPal.com for your business can be
risky. Should you ever lose your PayPal account or you have it
"frozen," your online income will come to a screeching halt. You
need a backup plan; another way to accept payments -- or you'll
have to close up shop. This is the same thing as relying on one
stream of income. If you lose your job your only source of
revenue dries up as well. That's why multiple streams are best
to keep you in the green.

So who are some of the others? I thought you'd never ask:

1) Bidpay: http://www.BidPay.com

This service is available only for those who buy and sell at
online auctions. Buyers use their credit or debit card to make
their purchases from you and BidPay sends you a Western Union
Money Order or the payment is directly deposited into your
checking account if you live in the U.S.

2) CCNow: http://CCNow.com

A shopping cart solution that also allows you to take all
major credit cards without a merchant account. They pay you
your earnings twice a month and while your money is sitting
on account it earns 1.5% APR.

3) DigiBuy: http://www.DigiBuy.com

For those who sell software. Puts you in control of pricing,
order forms, and delivery options. Pricing varies with two
service levels to choose from. Your earnings are paid to you
monthly minus their 13.9% per transaction fee ($3.00 minimum).
Digibuy allows you to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard,
Amex, Discover or Diners Club.

4) Ikobo: http://www.IKobo.com

With merchant fees at $2.99 plus .29 per transaction, and no
extra fees for international transactions. You can sell to
buyers in 170 countries. Payments are deposited to your bank
account or to your Ikobo Visa debit card.

5) 2CheckOut: http://www.2CheckOut.com

It will run you $49.00 to open an account, then it's .45 per
sale and 5.5% of the sales amount. Includes free shopping cart
and codes to add to your website. Will also work with your
existing shopping cart if you just need a way to take credit
card payments. Can be used for tangible or digital download
products. With 2CheckOut, you can take payment from all credit
cards and even check and debit card payments.

6) ClickBank: http://www.ClickBank.com

A great service which I've used for years. Good for selling
digital products and comes with a built-in affiliate program.
You'll have to pay a one time fee of $50.00, then it's only
$1.00 plus 7.5% of each transaction. Allows you to take payments
from all credit card types.

7) ShareIt: http://www.ShareIt.com

For selling software and shareware online. Your customers can
pay by credit card or debit cards, even checks. Receive your
money by check or electronic transfer to your bank account.
Fees are based per transaction with no monthly charges.

8) ProPay: http://www.ProPay.com

Accept payments by credit card via the web or even by phone.
Funds are deposited into your ProPay account. You can get a
ProPay MasterCard to access your funds or transfer your earnings
to your bank account. They have four types of accounts to choose
from: Basic, Premium, Premium Plus, Platinum, with annual pricing
from $34.95 all the way up to $299.95, depending on the features
and type of account you need.

9) Ibill: http://tinyurl.com/3oc88

For businesses selling services and subscriptions. Gives you the
ability to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, JCB,
Online Checks, even by phone via a special 900 toll free number.
Fees vary, but if you reside in the U.S. and your sales are from
$0 to $9,999, the charge is 15.19% in a billing period.

10) Money Bookers: http://moneybookers.com/app/

Money Bookers offers a merchant feature that allows you to
create order buttons for your website and be paid by credit
card. Fees range from 2% all the way up to 8%, depending on
how payments are made. No setup or monthly fees. You can
accept payments from over 30 countries. Money can be
transferred instantly to your bank account.

Don't wait for disaster to strike before opening another web
based payment account. Like a "good scout," you want to be
prepared in the event you need a backup. You never know what
tomorrow will bring so get your house in order now.

Missing Out On The Best The Web Has To Offer?

Here's some very interesting information on Searching the WEB and what kind of results you can really get ... There are Three search engines .. Google, Yahoo and MSN .. so if you are only using one of them .. are you sure you're getting the whole search picture or just part
..read on..

Derek Franklin knows all about searching the web.... here's what he has to say ... enjoy!

If you're using a single search engine for all your search needs (maybe one that starts with a G or a Y), there's now overwhelming proof that you are missing out - big time!

According to a recent article, 84.9% of all first-page search engine results are unique to the search engine you're using.

Isn't that incredible?

I have to say, that's a lot higher than I ever imagined.

Here's a cool visual tool that demonstrates this finding in action.

So, what this means is that, when you go searching for content about digital photography tips, and you confine yourself to using a single search engine, you are missing out on tons of useful info that can be found on another search engine.

I've been saying it for some time now - no single search engine, no matter how powerful or popular, is the ultimate source of content for any subject/question you may have. None!

Why miss out on all this great free content?

If it's because of the hassle of finding other search engines, bookmarking them, navigating to them when you need them, retyping your keyword, and so on, then I can understand. That hassle is just one of the reasons I created Search Automator, a revolutionary search tool that completely eliminates this hassle.

It allows you to type you keyword(s) once, and at the click of a button, search all the major search engines, find ebooks, images, videos, audio clips, articles, news stories, and more - all related to your keyword(s).

Not only will you be amazed at what you'll discover, but you'll be blown away by the speed at which you find it.

Head over to the Search Automator homepage for a video demonstration of this amazing search tool in action!
